So...... What has happened since last May?

Well, in September I was accepted into the Just A Start Bio-Medical Careers program, which trains qualified individuals in a nine month intensive program that readies them for the Bio-Tech field. I have about 3 months to go.

Two weeks ago we started in the lab at Bunker Hill Community College. This is where it should get interesting. All of the theoretical learning was nice, but hands on is always better. Plus, I have an excuse to say Erlenmyer. :)

About the same time I started the JAS program, I finally got a call back from Harmonix, where I had interviewed for a QA position. Unfortunately, I had to turn down their offer for employment. What?! Turn down a job playing Rock Band for money, that might eventually allow me to work up to the art department? Sadly, yes. Education wins. At least the Harmonix guys told me to give them a call if Bio-tech doesn't work out. Gladly, as it seems like a really great company to work for. It was a very hard decision, and it made me sad to make it.

Other than being busy with homework and tests, thats about it.

I am still going to River Gods on the last Tuesday of the month for their Guitar Hero / Rock Band night. It is way more fun than it should be, and Dewars sponsors the night, so there are good drink specials and Dewars swag. I could, at this point, wear a different Dewars Tshirt each day of the week, while sipping a drink from my Dewars glass and lighting things with my Dewars zippo, all while staying toasty wrapped in my Dewars blanket. "I'm a consumer whore!" "and how!"

I will actually try and post again a bit sooner.

Oh, and Zed, the zombie Munny? Someone who works for Dreamsworks bought him. I hope he is enjoying his new home.

Ok, so its a new month. We are starting to get into routine.

Joined a gym. We plan on going 3 times a week. So far, so good. Only missed one of those days last week due to a bad headache on my part. We watched Planet Earth in HD instead. Absolutely beautiful.

I had a great time at the River Gods pub at their Guitar Hero II night. It was a blast! We met a couple that live just down the street who also have a wii, and introduced us to a new game. They call it Horse balls, but it is known by many other names, including Ladder Golf. Its a great yard game where each team throws three bolos each that mare made from two golf balls and some rope at a three-rung ladder target. Bottom bar is worth one point, middle is worth two and the top is worth three.

I also customized and painted a Munny from Kid Robot for an art show at Star Clipper in Saint Louis. I just mailed it off yesterday, so let's hope it gets there before the Friday cut off date.

We are here. Here, and at least half-way unpacked. Just recently got the internets back up, as well as new cell phones. Supposedly we will have cable hooked up on Monday.

The drive down from Toronto was rather uneventful for having cats and people crammed into the front of a 14' U-Haul with a car trailer hooked up to the back.

Everything started at 8 am, and I must thank Richard, Marcus, Fox and our neighbor, Enrique very much. We couldn't have done it without you. Really. As it was, we were lucky to be leaving Toronto at 9 pm.

The border was a breeze, and we mostly drove right through.
After that, though, the GPS took us down the most rural, small highways possible. It was like the Lovecraft tour of New England as we followed twisty roads up and around New York and Vermont. Luckily we had no trouble with the truck as there were no signs of life anywhere, save one stray deer, until we finally found an open service station at about 6 am with the truck running on fumes.

We arrived at our new home at 12pm and started unpacking the truck. Luckily we hired movers to lug our stuff up the three flights of stairs, as I was way too tired to even think about doing it myself. In fact, I spent a fair part of Saturday in bed with a headache.

We are back from Boston.
The first two days in Boston were wasted. We were shown places that did not accept cats or were over our budget. We were finally lucky enough to happen upon someone who was able to show us a number of places, one of which we decided on. We finished the last of our paper-work for the application just as we had to get to the airport to fly home. We just got the news on Friday that we were accepted. Our new address is in Cambridge, not too awfully far from Shana's new job.

Went and saw Lindas play on Thursday night. She made for a convincing drug pusher. :P

We are hoping to have another Guitar Hero party before we leave.

I might as well start using this thing. I make no promises to keep it updated.

This is going to be a hellishly busy month. I have already started packing some, and there have been 2 viewings of our place so far.

We leave for Boston for 3 days on Sunday Morning to try and find a place to live.

Then it will all be packing. I think we are probably going to rent a U-Haul this time as well, and pray to not have as bad a move as we had coming up to Canada. Hopefully the new GPS unit will make the trip that much easier. I wont need a navigatrix to be awake to give me directions. Now I will have a pleasant computer generated voice telling me when to turn, and an i-pod full of tunes to keep me awake. That, and canned espresso shots.
